João F. D. Rodrigues graduated in 2001 in Environmental Engineering from Instituto Superior Tecnico, Universidade Tecnica de Lisboa. In 2007 he received his PhD from the same instititution for the thesis entitled “Theory and Measurement of Carbon Responsibility”.
From 2009 to 2014 he was an Assistant Researcher at the Center for Innovation, Technology and Policy Research (IN+) at Instituto Superior Tecnico, Universidade Tecnica de Lisboa. At an applied level he worked on the assessment of the impact of policies in the fields of waste management and of renewable energy. At a theoretical level he used maximum entropy inference to develop improved methods of data processing and uncertainty quantification.
At CML he is an Assistant Professor currently teaching the Design of European Research module of the Sustainable Development Minor and performing hybrid life-cycle analysis, among other duties.
