The Minor Sustainable Development, organized by the Institute of Environmental Sciences, started Monday 31 August. There was an official opening by Marianne Thieme, parliamentary leader at the Party for the Animals.

Friday 30 January 2015 were the final presentations of the last course of the Minor Sustainable Development. This year the Area Study was about Wheels of Metals: a circular economy for metals. All students were challenged to write an Urban Mining Business Plan of Rotterdam.
Monday 13 October the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) "Wheels of Metals: Urban Mining for a Circular Economy" has been started.
On Monday 1 September 2014 the sixth edition of the Minor Sustainable Development started. After an introduction by Arnold Tukker, director of the CML, there was an official opening by Frank de Wit, alderman of education, sustainability and sport at the Municipality of Leiden.

The Educational Programme of the CML
Former Master Industrial Ecology student Jelle Rademaker Rademaker received the award of 2nd runner up for best policy paper in Environmental Science & Technology 2013. He based the article on his MSc. Industrial Ecology thesis, together with his supervisors Rene Kleijn (Leiden University) and Yongxiang Yang (TU Delft) as co-authors.
On Thurday 26 September eleven students will receive their diploma from Prof.dr.ir. H.E. van de Akker, chairman of the examination Committee of the Master Industrial Ecology.
For the second year in a row a new record amount of students started their MSc Industrial Ecology Master's Programme. This year a total of 51 students enrolled in the programme, of which 20 international students and 6 MIND students.
On Tuesday May 14 the yearly minor market will take place at the Arsenaal of the Faculty of Humanities. CML will be present to promote the interdisciplinary minor Sustainable Development.

Op 4 februari presenteerden zij hun bevindingen aan een panel van deskundigen uit de Leidse afval- en recyclingwereld. Met het pleidooi: laat de onderzoeksresultaten niet in de prullenbak verdwijnen.
